Wanted: Wolfdog, Husky, or Malamute Stud in Florida!

My Cherokee is due to come into Season between Now and August. Her stud has moved to NY, so I am in a search for a new one. This will be her second and possibly last litter. Here is a pic of my Cherokee and her last litter of cubs, she had 3 whites, 3 black/whites, and 2 timbers (which I kept). In looking for my Stud as a wolfdog, I only want a Wolf mixed with husky or malamute-- No other breeds!!! I will also breed her with a husky or malamute with no wolf in it .

Today, Little Foot and Brutis had bath-time. Little Foot is a "Screamer"- Big Time!!! Likes to play in water but hates baths. Then it was nail trimming time and that was a workout. I have been trimming their nails every week since about three weeks old and a few weeks back they saw my Lab/Rotti Sassy fight/whine while getting hers done, now they do. They are going to be neutered tomorrow so I wanted them to be clean for their visit, How exhausting!!!

Yesterday, they got to see their brother Radar. Wow, he is so beautiful.... Radar will also be getting neutered tomorrow, not the best place to see family, but they will all be together.

Brutis' ears fell down a few weeks ago, it is said that when puppies teeth some ears will fall because of the lack of calcium. It weakens the cartlidge in the ears. Hopefully his ears will stand up again soon. He looks so different with them down...

Brutis and Little Foot are getting Neutered!

Well, I made the appointment... Brutis and Little Foot will be fixed on Monday. They are 12 weeks old today..I think their other brother Radar may be having it done too! They will lose their manhood before they get it. I can't have them getting their Momma pregnant and I at least want to breed her next August before she gets fixed. Enjoy a pic of them a few days old. Now they are about 30 pounds!

Cherokee's pups are getting bigger, they are all over the place. Still waiting for the eyes to open..... They are howlers! I wish I could keep them all, I am so attached. I am so excited for Cherokee, this will be her first time being a Mommy! I have not decided if I will keep a cub or not. Cherokee has started eating more the past few days and is calming down. She is 41 days along, so a little over 3 weeks left. I have been trying to listen for heart beats but everytime I get the stethoscope near her, she freaks out.

On another topic, I have came across a new WOLFDOG magazine..... How cool is that!! Click on the Wolfdogs picture and it will lead you there. You can even submit your own wolfdogs story. I think its a great idea!

Today Cherokee and Freedom had a successful date. In the next 63 days or so, Their litter should arrive. The Mother is Arctic Timber Wolf with Husky/Malmute, the Father is Wolf/husky. These pups will be Mid to High content! If you are interested in a future pup, you can contact me at wolfdogqueen@aol.com. I will not sell them to anyone. These are not leave on a chain animals, they must be inside animals or in a dependable fenced yard. I also am requesting that if you buy a wolfdog and you later cannot give it the home it needs, you will give it to a wolfdog rescue, not an animal shelter. Shelters put them down, no matter how nice they are!

Cherokee's Vacation in Virginia

Well, Cherokee went on her first long distance trip. She handled the long drive from Palm Coast, Florida up to Chesapeake, Virgina very well. However, she was ready to come home after 5 days away from home. I was somewhat disappointed, she didn't experience snow. We left to soon. It would of been funny. After watching her reaction walking on frozen/crackly grass. It would have been a blast watching her run through snow. We arrived back home yesterday, just in time for her to go in heat today. Hopefully babies will be in the future.... This is her second heat, so this one should take. If her stud is available.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday in 2008 and we welcome you with warm wishes of a New Year in 2009. As you can see in the pic next to me, my wolfdog Cherokee, received a travel back pack for her toys and some bones for Christmas and so dig her big sister Sassy. Cherokee had to have a backpack for her stuff for when we go see some snow later this month. I can say she is prepared, she loves to wear her new backpack. We already have her winter vest, now she needs some booties. My problem is I think she will eat them off! Well, we shall see. I also am wanting to apologize for the big gap in my posting. Working 6 days a week and the holidays have really got to me.

Cheyenne may need a home!

This is a pic of Cherokee (Left) and her mother Cheyenne (Right). Unfortunately, Cheyenne needs a home. Due to unexpected problems Cheyenne's owner has to find her a home. Cheyenne is half Arctic Timber Wolf and Husky. She is very Skitish and it will take sometime for her to get used to the transition. Her owner Barb, said she "may" have found her a home. She however hasn't confirmed it yet. This is extremely hard on Barb! Cheyenne has been fixed. Wolfdogs do not belong on chains in a backyard! They need a strong and Sturdy fence or to be an inside Wolfdog. If you are interested, please let me know. You can leave a comment and I will respond. I also will repost when a home has been found and she has settled in. Just in case, a new owner decides it is not for them. This is a story of a beatiful Wolf Hybrid, who's life was shortened unexpectedly. This was written by her owner. www.wolfhuskypups.com

This is Red Dawn's story: Dawn came from an affiliate (and great friend) of Mine that sells Beautiful High Contents. Dawn was not the best looking baby, so She didn't find a home during Her very important bonding time. As You can see She blossomed into a Beautiful Hybrid, but it took awhile. A Guy ended up adopting Her from My Affiliate. He was warned that because She wasn't being purchased as a pup but instead a 6 month old, She would take a lot of work to bring around. She loved My affiliate, but knew No One else and was very shy. Well He was unable to get Her to act like He wanted Her to be, so rather then Her going back to My affiliate, I offered to take Her because I had the time to work with Her. It took Me a year to earn Her trust and love. I was Her Person. She loved Me and only Me.

Dawn had this problem with going out on Her own to adventure. That's one of The reasons The Guy that adopted Her couldn't handle Her, She was an escape artist. I personally don't like caging animals. Instead of caging Her when She came to Me, We spent a lot of money using other methods to keep Her safe within Our property. Unfortunately She was smarter than Our methods. She would climb trees to get over the barriers meant to keep Her safe. We then cut down the Trees. She Then would bring furniture, wood blocks, basically anything She could drag to get over the barriers. She would always come home to Me, sometimes with a gift meant for Her alpha ( Me ) I would always thank Her, no matter how disgusting the "treat" She brought Me was because I knew it was Her way of showing Her feelings for Me. The thing is, once She got pregnant, Her desire to explore changed. She would never let Me out of Her site. I could stand in the front Yard with Her off leash and She would go no where. After She had Her litter, She acted the same way, no desire to go anywhere, that is until That night. Dawn and I were outside for Her usual potty and play break away from the Babies. She looked up at Me and looked towards the street. She looked at Me again. I could feel what She was thinking. I said Dawn, No trying to distract Her enough to grab Her. She bolted, but not before throwing Me a look back like Don't worry, I just need a break, I will be back.

Well She did come back. This time with a Giant Hawk like bird that had been dead for some time. It had bullet wounds from some evil Person out just to kill, then leave it to poison somebodies Family member. Well, not trying to panic, I took it from Her, noticed how bad it really was and checked to see if She had ate any of It. It was mostly intact from What I could see (although there was a leg missing) I called the Animal Hospital an hour from My house (it was late and no local vets were open) and They told Me Dogs have strong stomachs and just watch Her closely. I did watch Her closely and She seemed fine for a bit. Just as I was beginning to feel relieved, She started having diarrhea, within a few minutes She was vomiting. I called My usual vets who had just opened for the day and They explained My doctor was had emergency surgery that morning on a horse. I called My back up vet and He wasn't in. I ended up going somewhere I had never gone before because They said They could see Her now. It ended up being a vet tech, and She was trying to be a hero instead of listening to Me. She claimed Dawn had a calcium defiencancy because of being a first time mom and nursing. I explained to Her, She gets supplements, and wasn't nursing the babies. The babies were being bottle fed. I told Her over and over about the Hawk and She said trust Me I have seen this before, its a calcium issue. She then gave Her calcium shots, which of coarse did nothing because She had no deficiency. All of My animals get vitamin, supplements and high quality food, and mothers whether nursing or not get even more. Dawn slipped into a coma and died minutes later. There are three People to blame. First Me, for thinking She was never going to go off again because She hadn't in months. I shouldve taken more precautions to keep Her safe. Second, the Person or People who shot that bird and left it. Third, a vet tech who had Her mind made up and was wrong.

Now You see why My heart is broken. She was mine and I was Hers and there will never be another like Her.

My Wolfdog has Mommy-itis!

My wolfdog gets stressed as soon as she is left alone. We have a Xtra Large crate for her. She opens bothe latches up, so we put zip-ties on it and she eats those off. So we let her in the dining area with a safety gate up. Big Mistake. My car broke down and I had 4 days no car no work! She got stuck up my you no where! So the first day back to work stress hit Cherokee hard. We came home to her and our whole floor of carpet was ripped up! I know what wolfdogs are capable of and as pissed as I was, I couldn't take it completely out of her, cause I should have known better. We gave her a calming aid and it didn't help. Cherokee suffers from Mommy-itis if I am not there she goes bezerk! If I leave the house and the rest of the family is till there, she cries until I come home. Cherokee is almost 15 months old and acts like a puppy being weened. She is very hard to break. Don't get me wrong dogs can act the same way but wolves aren't used to being left alone, they are pack animals. Also, I do have another dog at home but she is old and not as interactive as Cherokee. So it's just like her being alone. My poor girl, she is scared to be left alone. Now, we have to put master locks on her crate so she can't open it.

Dog Fishing, It's FUN!

We have been experimenting with Dog Fishing with Cherokee and Sassy. We got an old fishing pole and tied Cherokee's stuffed animal (Rabbit) to it. I held it up in the air like I was playing keep away and then casted it out. Cherokee ran like crazy after it. Then the reeling it in part was the funniest. We played outside for like 20 minutes. The most exciting part was when Sassy joined in, poor Sassy she's old and in pain, but she tried running as fast as she could to get it before Cherokee. You should try it with your wolfdogs/dogs or cats for that matter. I haven't seen Sassy so energetic and happy in a long tome. It's like the puppy came out of her again. We also tried something else, you get a soft treat like a filet mignon snack or tbone snack, take a toothpick and make a hole in it, to thread the fishing line through it. It must be a soft snack to where if they get it, it will break off with out the line. You don't want your animal to digest fishing line.
Well, after hooking the bait. We were off, Cherokee was wanting it so bad she starting walking on two legs for it, then she would yell at us to give it her. So for the work out we gave them treats. For out of shape dogs , it's perfect Sassy will do anything possible for another bite of food. So we make her paw for it, she chases it (in slow motion) but enough to get her heart rate going and to get her tired. Having her get into it like this gets her metabolism to work. So it's fun and healthy for them both.

Today, Kevin (my husband) and I took Cherokke and Sassy to the beach. Cherokee was funny as all get out! It was her first time she has been to the beach since she was a pup. I walked her close to the water, since I know she hates baths. I wanted to see how she would respond. That turned out hilarious! The water was coming in and she started to run like she was scared, then boom she turns around as the water was returning and pounced on it and started chasing it into the deep in. Cherokee thought it was attacking her or something like that, so she acted like she was waiting for the water to turn its back before she attacked. She was pouncing and jumping like a crazy dog! That was the fun moments at the beach, but it took a turn for the worse. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take Sassy on long walks or short walks on the beach. Walking in the sand was to hard for her. We didn't even walk 15 minutes total. It hurt her so bad she couldn't go up the steps to leave the beach. I felt horrible! So Kevin and I came to a conclusion. We will take them on their shorts walks like normal, but long walks and the beach are for Cherokee for now. No more beach definitely for Sassy, to big of a chance to take. She is 12 and has bad hips now. However we are going to buy a heavy duty wagon to pull Sassy in while we go on our walks. The dog wheelchair won't work on her, she is so big and her small front legs can't hold the weight of her body. So the wagon seems like the best bet. We had fun at the beach until the end. I don't want to see and of my animals hurt. I don't know what I would have done if she was to break a leg. She weighs 120 lbs. I wouldn't even be able to pick her up. I won't do that again!

Today, here in Florida, we had our first taste of Autumn! It felt so nice out! The animals liked it so much! Cherokee and Sassy feel refreshed when they go out. Sassy is so big, that the nice breeze and cooler temps help her breathe easier. Cherokee on the other hand, looks like a dog that needs ADHD meds, LOL! How does your act? I can't wait till it gets real cold here, then they will have more fun. Play time sucks here in the Summer, it's too hot for the animals to play outside. So when Atumn and Winter comes, they get to let loose and act crazy!

Today I am writing a post about a site I have been checking out for the past year or so.
These pups vary from Low to High Content, from Utah to California. This is not a puppy mill, Just a loving family who breeds wolfdogs. This is Cherokee(Wolfdog) and Baby(Cat). Everytime it is time to feed Cherokee and Sassy(Lab/Rotti), Baby comes strolling in. Baby has never tried for Sassy's food, she probably knows she wouldn't go for it. Cherokee on the other hand, watches in a shockingly way and then joins in. Sometimes when it's at the last little bit in the bowl, Cherokee will smoosh the side of Baby's face in the bowl. Cherokee is a lover, she does not growl over food. A few weeks ago when she visied Freedom(Wolfdog). It was a hot day so I brought ice cream treats to cool them off. Then out of the blue Freedom took her ice cream, she whined and cried, she went to get it back and Freedom went off on her. So I admit my dog is a "Scaredy Cat". So does your four-legged family member like to share, too? Will yours let you near the bowl? Got to go now, hope everyone enjoys the pics. Hope your Labor Day was fun and safe!

Oh, No, It's Bath Time Again

Well, today I finally had a day off to do what I want and I did! I mowed the grass, weed eated, and the most exhausting; washing the DOGS! Cherokee likes to get dirty and play in water but not bath time. I tried the tub, she has busted the drywall, trying to get out. So I really try to do it outside. Since , it was nice and HOT, I figured it was the best time with no rain! I started washing Cherokee first, while Cherokee's flea shampoo was soaking on her, I grabbed, well dragged Sassy to wash her in the meantime. Bad Idea! I took my eyes off Cherokee and she made a crop circle and somehow turned dry grass into mud, including her.Thank goodness I still had to rinse her off, but the grass was weaved in and out of her hair. While I'm finishing up Sassy, Cherokee is on her main lead drying off. OOPS! Atleast it wasn't mud, but Cherokee decided to waller in a huge ant bed. So, I had to wash and rinse her again to make sure the ants were off and dead. An hour later...... I finally have two clean animals! This is what days off are for!!! Work is easier!!!

Cherokee's Last Date

Well, yesterday was Cherokee and Freedom's last date for this round. Cherokee and Freedom did well together besides with their ice cream treats, Freedom enjoyed it so much, he took Cherokee's. However, this was the fourth time they tried in the past 10 days. As much as we wanted puppies, they were not in the forecast this time. That's alright though it was meant to be.

You can't force Mother Nature. I will say after these visits Kevin(my husband) and I, got to know Lisa, Steve, and Barbara alot better. I would have to say they are really nice people. It's always good to get to know the people who have your pups parents, pups and studs, then you know they are in good hands! Sorry for Cherokee making you BLUE, Freedom!! HEHEHE!

Ice cream night at Ritter's

Cherokee's Date

Cherokee and Freedom have already had 2 dates, they will have their third on Tuesday, Aug.5th. She is quite the lady, She will play and let him try to make advances at her. She just feels like she needs to get to know him better, maybe the third times the charm. We will just have to wait and see. She may tell Freedom, that she just wants to be friends. Never Know!

Cherokee's Special time

Well, my little girl, Cherokee (Wolfdog) has finally became a young lady. Now it is time for her to have her first date! She is hooking up with Freedom, he is a solid white Wolfdog. So in a few months we hopefully will have a litter of cubs. They will be "High Content" Wolfdogs. Wolfdogs are very loveable animals. Freedom is owned by Steve and Lisa. He is a very playful wolfdog. His characteristics make a perfect match for Cherokee to have cubs with. I hope it takes. Cherokee is very nervous around strangers, hopefully she isn't too nervous for the date.

Updates from the Dog Park

Well today was a good day. It was Dog Park day! Barb and her parents showed up with Sundance, Grace showed up with her 2 kids and Cubby. Kevin, Nikki and myself were there, along with Cherokee and Sassy. We had a fulfilling sandwich ring, chicken wings,potato salad, fruits, cheese/meat cracker platter, some snacks for the 4 legged ones! I think it turned out terrific!! We also had a surprise guest, Ginger, she came to play with the others. Cherokee came out of her shell to run around. She would walk around people but as soon as they got close she would scatter. Sundance, however wouldn't leave the food area for nothing. We will have to do this again sometime. Can't wait til' it's cooler out then they will all get real friskey! Hope everyone enjoyed themself as much as we did!

Dog Park Gathering

A US federal judge has restored endangered species protections for grey wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains, derailing plans by three states to hold public wolf hunts this autumn.
District judge Donald Molloy granted a preliminary injunction restoring the protections in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. He will later decide whether the injunction will be permanent.The region has an estimated 2,000 grey wolves. They were removed from the endangered species list in March, following a decade-long restoration effort.Environmentalists sued to overturn that decision. "There were fall hunts scheduled that would have called for as many as 500 wolves to be killed," said Doug Honnold of Earthjustice, who had argued the case for 12 environmental groups.

Today we went to the James Holland Dog Park in Palm Coast off of Florida Park Drive. This is the first time we have taken them there to roam free. Sassy did some investigating, while Cherokee was trying to find an escape route. They met some friends too. Two Giant Schnauzers,a sheep dog, and 2 others. There were more there but they didn't go to meet them, it started raining. So the fun got spoiled, but now since we realized how big the dog area was and that they did really good there. We plan to go more often. Cherokee would like to see if her Mommy and Daddy will meet her there someday for a play date. Cherokee has social issues, she is scared of everything that moves, mostly humans and foreign objects. The other dogs she good with. They had a good time, that's all that matters and they got a Frosty Paw when they got home. :)

Animals are Family too!

I am an absolute animal lover, always have been! It got worse when I wanted a bunch of kids, and due to a surgery, I have one and can't have anymore. So I have been making my family bigger with my animals. Some people have animals, but just think of them as animals. I lost my dog,Copper,when he was a lil' over 10 yrs old to Cancer. The pain was unbearable, it was like losing a child, it has been since 04.06.07 and the pain is still fresh. I would love to think everyone who has pets feel the same, but unfortunately I know there are the people that chain up their pets and feed them, that's it! Then there are the dog fighters, who have no love what so ever for them. I spoil mine almost more than my daughter. they get baths once a week,frosty paws to snack on, I buy only pet food with #1 ingredient meat(not meat meal), frequent walks and car rides. Playtime is as soon as I get home. Cherokee's fave game is for me to get Kevin(husband) to cover up with blanket, I yell "get Daddy" and she digs him out as fast as she can, and if he fights to stay covered she pounces him until he lets go. It's not as rough as it sounds. Tug of war and hide n' seek are fun too! I hope there are more people out there that feel the same way. They aren't just animals, especially K9s, they are very intelligent and some don't give them the benefit they deserve.

Opinions of owning a Wolf or Wolf dog

I am an owner of a Wolfdog, I was searching online for another one, when I came across a question posted about owning one. This lady's son brought home a wolfdog and she posted the question about how big it would get. That's all the person wanted to know. After reading all the negative remarks from these responders, she got more than she asked for. She was informed that she was ignorant, stupid, that she's got a killer in the house now, that the animal cant be trusted. My heart went out to this person, she asked a question about weight and instead she got opinions about the animal. Im sorry but I'm guessing 75% of them have never seen a wolfdog up close. People like this give wolves and wolfdogs a bad name. I have never met a bad wolfdog or wolf for that matter. Yes, I agree if you bring a wolf out of the wild it will be different, because it was born to survive and adjusting can take along time. But 99.9% of these wolfdogs are born in captivity to be loved by humans. The only time I have ever seen a wolfdog or wolf act aggressive is if you feed them raw meat, because it reinstalls the survival mode in them. I have been researching on wolves/wolfdogs for years, and in researching it states there has never been any documented wolf attacks on mankind. Now how about those "PIT BULLS"!!!! You non-wolfdog/wolf lovers can take that and shove it where the sun don't shine. These people will bitch about taking the wolves into captivity, but look at how many are killed a year for sport. These are loving animals!! As pissed off as I am after reading these people's remarks, they have their own opinions, but what really pisses me off is they lady never asked for it. What breaks my heart the lady probably took it straight to the Humane Society after that. If I was her and didnt know what I know, I would be scared shitless!! As far as people opinions about taking an animal out of the wild, look at the hounddogs that are kept in cages until hunting season. The Phoenix foxes, birds, snakes, racoons, skunks, these are wild animals that spend 90 percent of their time in cages with no interaction. However wolves/ wolfdogs roam free in a yard or house with love everyday, being treated like family members. I have to go this got me a lil' fired up, and I don't think I should type what I really want to say about these people and their opinions.

Ritter's Dog Nite Out

Well today Cherokee got to go to Port Orange, Florida at Ritter's Frozen Custard. She got to see a whole bunch of other dogs, including her mother, Cheyenne and her sister, Cubby. She was stuck to her mom for a lil' bit. Humans and Cars scare her. I am still working on her fears. I was very surprised how well she did with other animals. She felt comfortable with them but the heck with the people! I know it takes time, hopefully not too much longer. The funny thing is we went there for the custard, but Sassy or Chherokee wouldn't eat it. So they gave their's to Cherokee's mom. Cherokee got to meet Freedom too! He is beauitful!! Cherokee and Cheyenne look identical besides the eyes. Cheyenne's mother will be sending pics of them together, so I can post it on the blog. Well gotta go give Cherokee a bath, Freedom's dad loved on her and she tinkled on herself! :P

Twelve Conservation Groups Challenge Federal Wolf Delisting

Missoula, MT -- Twelve conservation groups are fighting for the survival of wolves in the northern Rocky Mountains. The groups today filed a federal court lawsuit challenging the federal government's decision to remove the northern Rockies gray wolf population from the list of endangered species. Wolves should not have been delisted, the groups argue, because they remain threatened by biased, inadequate state management plans, as well as by the lack of connections between largely isolated state wolf populations.

Actions by the states of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana, and by individuals, since wolves were delisted demonstrate the need to resume federal safeguards for wolves until state plans are in place that ensure a sustainable wolf population in the region. For example, on the very day delisting took effect -- March 28, 2008 -- Idaho Governor Butch Otter signed into law a new Idaho law allowing Idaho citizens to kill wolves without a permit whenever wolves are annoying, disturbing, or "worrying" livestock or domestic animals. Since delisting, Wyoming has implemented its "kill on sight" predator law in nearly 90 percent of the state. Not surprisingly, these hostile state laws have resulted in a wave of new wolf killings.

With continued recovery efforts, real wolf recovery in the region is within reach. Delisting further endangers wolves because of increased wolf killing, reduced wolf numbers, and less genetic exchange between wolf populations.

Yesterday was the fourth of July, I decided I would take my Mom out of the nursing home and Dye her hair/cut it and take her out later on to see the fireworks! I was excited, it has been five years since she has seen them maybe six. Last year my dad talked me out of doing, said the noises would scare her, but I was ignorant this year. The fourth of July was always my moms favorite Holiday to celebrate, outside of Christmas. She couldnt take her eyes off of them, and the most wonderful part is she talked!!! I have not heard a word out of her since January. She only said Hi and yes but I am good with that!! It just shows me she was in her happy place! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

Cherokee's Chewing problem

As mentioned before Cherokee is my wolfdog pup, she is now 11 months. To say the least Cherokee gets bored very easy and without Rusty it is getting worse! She has somehow Chewed 2 harnesses, 1 collar, the corners of her bed, every single toy she has had, shoes, my couch that I still owe $2,000 on, the walls (this ones I couldnt help but laugh, she wanted to play with the cable cord, she couldnt get it out the wall so she ate a whole about 8" around to get to the cord. Thank goodness, the cable in that room wasnt connected.) She is a very determined animal. So here is an example of what you could get into if you own a wolfdog, so think before you buy, if you arent ready, dont get one! Unfortunately, I knew what I was getting into. It's just gotten worse since her friend passed. After all the chewed items in the house, I wouldnt change it for the world, I love my Cherokee!!!

Ritter's Dog Nite Out

I was starting to get worried about her eating but she finally started back this morning. I am looking for a male White Husky or White wolfdog puppy. She is in dire need of a friend again. Today I am devoting this blog to my mother, Deborah. She is and always will be a wonderful mother. She is who made me an animal lover. She spent over 10 yrs as a vet tech, then continued her education to be a psychologist. She has always thought about the needy, whether animal or human, Unfortunately my mother is 56 yrs old and has the horrible disease of Alzheimers. At 56, she is at the last stage, we were told 2 yrs ago it was her last Christmas. Since this past January, she has stopped walking, talking, and she has got atrophy throughout her body. This is not your normal Alzheimers, it's called Early Onset Alzheimers. It is rare but you can get it as early as your 30's. I know I have very little time with her and I cherish it every day. Everytime I see an animal I think of her. As kids we had animals all the time, sometimes more than we could handle. Well, Mom, I love you and I pray for you everyday. I wish a miracle would bring you back to me as you were. But I know when god takes you to your heaven with all the animals you can snuggle, your illness wont matter anymore and you will be happy again! I will have my mom to watch over me again, I love you soo much!! Please anyone who reads this, pray for my moms pain and suffering to end and for the cure of Alzheimers to be found. I love you, your daughter, Amy! XOXOXOXOXO

" A dog lover's Tale "

All my life I have been raised around animals, everyhing from the common to the exotic. When I was a kid my mom bred poms, we also had a collie (Rocky). The poms were my moms favorite, I guess thats why I'm a big dog lover. Listening to rats yap 24/7 your whole life it gets old! LOL!! Then I starting getting my own pets, I have owned a wolfdog(Snow)when I was younger, but when my neighbors found out what it was they threw a poisoned peice of meat over the fence to it. He was a loveable animal, but people hear wolf and they think of danger. Since then I have longed for another. I have also had a sharpe'/Lab (puppy Nik), Shepherd (Lil Girl), Belgian Malinois (Rusty), Lab/Rotti(Sassy), Akita/coonhound (Copper), and last but not least I finally got my wolfdog(Cherokee). I have also had in my life ferrets, snakes, rabbits, macaws, parrots, camon gators, skunks, racoons, you name it, I have had it. Guess that's what happens when your mom was a Vet tech!! Animals have filled voids in my life, they can light up your world when you need it. I know it sounds like alot of animals but they were all taken care of till the end of their lives. Except I stll have Cherokee and Sassy. Well that's the end of todays tale! Wag ya laterz!
